Friday--Revising my own blah, blah, blah

I was having such a good time with this revision. Then I came to my own wordiness. Culling the "what the ?*&% was I thinking" moments is never the best part of revising. Sometimes it's a moment I wanted so badly to get perfect that I wrote all around it instead. You know--that horrible crisis of confidence thing where you know you can't get it out the way it sounds and feels in your head? Uh-huh. I've been working since about six this morning and I've cut about two pages of that.

Forty-seven minutes after starting this expedition through numbing blah, blah, blah, I'm wondering what the ?*&% was I thinking? And also, I'm so grateful we get to revise.

No one will ever see that stuff. What a relief! Don't you wish you could revise certain moments in real life, too?

I would love to revise some moments of my life. LOL! Instant rewind.

I love when I go back during revisions and find that one perfect line that seems to have come from no where, but you just know it's great.

The WTF lines usually get my thinking...where the hell did that come from? lol!

Hey, Jenn. Hope you had a great weekend!

Amen on the instant rewind. :-) I can think of several moments I'd rewind. Yikes!

Ohhhh, perfect lines. I've now read this so many times I'm doubting everything. It's part of the process so I'm not panicking, just moving ahead and hoping to make sense. I'm not going to let myself edit all life from the ms. Maria and Jake deserve a happily ever after that won't embarrass them! :-)

And those other lines--I'm not going to think about them today--just going to mow them down with no regard for their feelings! Words have feelings, right? :-)

Hope your writing is all perfect lines today, Jenn!
